Administrator Alice Takes On 10YFAN

Alice Bennett, our wonderful Calon Cymru Administrator based in Carmarthen is taking on 10YFAN this weekend.

10YFAN is a gruelling challenge, which will begin at 6pm on May 13^th and end 24 hours later at 6pm on May 14^th.  Throughout this time, Alice along with 300 others, including 10 friends from her gym will attempt to climb up and down Pen y Fan 10 times! Pen y Fan is the highest peak in South Wales, if Alice completes all 10 climbs it will be the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest.

Alice is taking on this feat in aid of an extraordinary charity called Holibobs. Holibobs dedicate themselves to helping children diagnosed with Cancer or Leukaemia spend precious time together as a family through the provision of short breaks and holidays.

In preparation for taking on the challenge, Alice is currently training hard, whilst nursing a knee injury. She is at the gym from 5:30am most mornings, undergoing physiotherapy, receiving sports massages, and recovering from all her training with plenty of ice baths.

Speaking of her upcoming test, Alice said:

I cannot guarantee I will complete all 10 climbs, but I can guarantee that I will give it everything I have! Anyone is welcome to come and join me for a climb, it would be great to see some familiar faces along the way.
