Where to find us:
Caerphilly is the 5th most populated place in Wales with 180,500 residents. It is home to the largest castle in Wales (read more below). There is loads to see and plenty to do with your future foster family. Here are a few ideas:
This magnificent castle was made in the medieval times, around the 13th century. It was built by Gilbert ‘the Red’ de Clare and now towers the Caerphilly skyline, wonderful views and great for children and young people. It has also been used as filming locations for Doctor Who and Merlin.
The five screen cinema in Blackwood, Caerphilly is well known locally for its exceptional value. As well as showing current Box Office hits, it shows events like the National Opera. This independent cinema is a great treat for your foster children.
Caerphilly mountain is great for walks, with the summit easily accessible to all. It overlooks the Caerphilly Castle, which adds to the outstanding views. If you’re hungry, a snack bar that has been around since 1957 offers great food.
